Monte Paterno / Paternkofel – on the trace of Sepp Innerkofler

Climbing

As with many climbing trails in the Dolomite region, this is a path from World War I. It’s special due to the fact that there is a 600 metre long tunnel (approx) through the rock. A helmet and lamp are not optional in this case! Through the impressive tunnel passages, there are a number of rock holes and an interesting part, where you will find yourself flat on your stomach (just before you reach the Paternsattel). The tour is magnificent and highly recommended due to its central position in the Sexten Dolomites, as well as the panoramic views at the summit.
