Upon departure from the train station of Dobbiaco, the cycling tour leads along a cycling path from San Candido/Innichen via Versciaco/ Vierschach and Prato alla Drava/Winnebach along the Drava River to Lienz. You can start also at the villages of Villabassa/Niederdorf and Dobbiaco/Toblach. It is suitable for all kinds of bicycles. This part of the trail was the first to be built and is still one of the best developed. As the path from Dobbiaco/Toblach to Lienz has a downward gradient, there is no elevation. The Drau cycle path is suitable for families with small children. The route is well signposted, paved therfore the roas throughout and generally runs right beside the river. Besides it you will also find many spots for stopping and having a rest.
